What do you do when someone you love is in love with someone else?
I really, really want to dislike this girl. I do. But she is so sweet, nice, perfect! And sadly I do like her! I can see what he see's in her! She is like me only better. More beautiful, more centered, more eccentric, intelligent, more artsy, just plain old amazing! Everything he really wants. She just seems like a better fit. Which I hate to say. She just seems so perfect for him.
I know she likes him as well. You can tell by her actions in everyday life towards him. She treats him completely different than anyone else. Her actions speak very loudly. He is 99% sure that she likes him back. He hasn't left me yet for her but I think he will. I really do!
How do I deal with this? Can I really? Should I sit here and wait for him to leave me and pursue her? Or should I get rid of him and move along?

I know he is in love with her. He has told me so. Plus it is all over his face when he is around her. and hers for that matter.
He also tells me that he loves me also. I just fear he loves her more of the newness of her is better than a mate of 10 years! She doesn't have the baggage I have with him. She is perfect and new.

The way you talk about her, you sound like you have a girl-crush yourself. Maybe the three of you should start up a polyamory thing together! (I'm not kidding, by the way -- it is something to consider.)

If he told you that he was leaving you for her, you don't need him anyway. None of those things should matter (artsy, intelligent, eccentic..) because if thats the case then why does anyone get married, there will always be that guy/girl whos got one up on ya. Hey, love doesnt let feelings for others in. Why should you stick around and be his alternate, you deserve so much more, leave him and find someone who could careless about what another girl has or does. Besides if he loved you he sure as heck wouldnt have told you he met someone better than you. Whats wrong with him. Get out, go find someone whos not an ***!!!!!

If you can handle the truth ask him how he really feels. It will hurt, cuss you are already seeing some of the truth. If you can't handle his truth, then by all means you need to break it. You need to simply tell him that you think there is someone that is probably better for him out there and is waiting. Honestly I think you should ask him to be real with his answer. You might get the shock of your life, that he might just be happy with you cuss you full fill him in different ways that makes him happy. You won't know until you ask and you will not have regrets on your decision.

After reading this, I can't help but feel you've already moved past the point of getting rid of him. You don't sound as though you are in love with the man of your dreams, the way you refer to him it's like the love one would have for their brother. Wish him and his new love well and move on to find the kind of love that makes you want to fight to keep him, someone who inspires you to feel passion. Good luck.

work hard on the relationship, looks are not everything and if the connection is real (you and him) you will work on keeping him. Do nice things for him, show him that you care. If you dont care about him, let him go, but if not, be withhim and just be the best you that you can be
