OMG, I totally agree!
Captain Planet was my freakin' hero back in the day! I want to see the old school Doug and Rugrats too!
I just don't understand how kids actually find shows like Ed, Edd, & Eddy and Courage the Cowardly Dog funny. At least all the old school cartoons had something of a lesson to them! The ones today are just pointless.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!
I loved My Little Ponies, Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, He-Man, She-Rah, G.I Joe, Transformers, and a few others I can't recall right now. But I absolutely ADORED She-Rah. I thought that girl hung the moon.
And all those shows, though they may seem graphically inferior by today's standards, were still terrific shows with what I think is a perfect mixture of meaningful content and flashiness and entertainment value.
BTW, for those of you who say "what about this and that older show..." The Asker of this question was obviously a kid and watching cartoons of the time, in about the same time frame as I was (I'd say approx 1981~1987). So, that's why they wonder about those particular shows. 'Cause those are the shows she grew up with (BTW I apologize if you are not a she).
In fact, When my son gets old enough to understand what it is he sees on the television screen, I am going to buy copies of those old cartoons and show them to him. And I would bet money he will like them better than 95% of the crap on tv for kids nowadays.
