Buried in mans fundamental nature is greed and selfishness. and his central goal is self preservation (survival) whatever it takes. life primarily is built on the principle of survival of the fittest. In that sense man/woman in his everday quest to survive, variously hurt his friend, his neighbour, his lover, etc. we hurt and hurt and hurt. The bad is what dominates our nature. we only slip into the good or the not so bad, when we tame our animalistic part:we putt-off the natural man, and become less greedy and selfish.

I was reading about ascended masters the other day, and it said the following:
They gained mastery over the limitations of the matter planes, balanced at least 51% of negative karma, and fulfilled their Dharma (Divine Plan).
I would like to think that in my lifetime, I have balanced some sort of good-karma, that outweighs the bad in the world.
However, for most of us? I think most people are so hell bent on saving their own skin, that they miss anyone else that isn't close or beneficial to them. You only have to be in London for the day to notice that on the Underground, people ignore the homeless and don't even give their seats to pregnant mothers.

it takes more good to balance the bad. Out weighing the bad takes sacrifice. It's the same principle that many religions are based on minus the guilt. Teach the children the truth and watch the miracles and magic.

In the past 5000 years or so, the human condition has generally improved. If most of us were doing more harm than good, one might reasonably presume that things would be worse, not better. Sure, there are still problems but we have evolved to see slavery as wrong, human sacrifice as wrong, torture as wrong, sexism (and most other "ism's" as wrong), etc. Life that was once nasty, brutish and short is much less so for many of us.

I always think that people are wired to follow the Law of Recency. If recently you've done a series of good acts , then people tend to forget the bad acts that you've done before. But if you've done one bad act just recently, then they won't remember the good deeds you've done at all. This holds true for the kind of politics we have here in the Philippines.

I'd like to think that's true but I have a feeling that the bad will out weigh the good when the day of reckoning comes!! I'm in big trouble then.

In this world I think it can; if we do actually do good.
A lot of people just go through life unaware of the pain and suffering around them and never do thing about it. They just don't realize that their happiness isn't the same as other people's happiness. Good Q.

There are some people that no matter what they do they can't seem to do things right but it's the heart felt feelings behind an action that really make it good or bad, not the action itself.
