Nationalist, Patriot, Jingoist - Traitor. It's a matter of degree. Typically, we like to think of ourselves as patriots - no matter how much we may love or hate our country - and consider those who show more commitment as Jingoist, and those who show less, Traitors.
If you find yourself living in a world where everyone who doesn't think exactly like you is a Traitor, chances are, you really are the Jingoist. The reverse aplies, as well, if you can't see even the most moderate of your political rivals as anything less than Nationalists, you may be flirting with the T-word.

Why don't you quit whining about your woes and be thankful you live in a country where the worst that happens to you if you disagree with the majority is a little ridicule that you class as assault. You could be in Iraq where you could be killed for not going along with the people around you.
If you don't like where you are--MOVE! This is a free country. You are free to leave your job and get another one any time. You can go to a different state or you can even leave this country altogether.
Who knows maybe THIS country IS better than others and maybe better than most. There is a lot ot be proud of.

I don't see why you think individualism would hinder the "exceptional ism" of the United States. Having a vast population dependent and reliant on the government somehow makes our country strong? What kind of assault on reason is that?

Why the obsession with your co-workers? Is it really your just upset because they don't accept your gay lifestyle? Or is it the fact when they go out to lunch your left back in your cubicle?
I think the real issue here is why are you so judgmental? Healing begins at home.

Respectfully I think you are very mistaken about this.
NeoCons are globalists and self-aggrandized myopics and these traits run counter to what is best for America.
Far as the U.S.A being the most desirable place to live, that depends on ones outlook. For me it is, but I wouldn't go as far as that Rousseauian quip about: "When one wishes their country to neither wax nor wan next to another, then they are a cosmopolitan."
Nope, I'll stand with America even when it's elected officials should be imprisoned for malfeasance

Nationalism is not a merely neoMcCarthyite virtue. What you are seeing is Jingoism, which is very different. Think of it as nationalism without respect for others.
Democrats like Franklin Roosevelt and John Kennedy were every bit as patriotic as any Republican, but their pride in America was in the kind of nation we were and not in our mere wealth and power. The kind of patriotism we see today reminds me of nothing more than that demonstrated at Nuremburg in 1936.
Pride cometh before the fall. I guess the Bush League Christers never read that part.

No. Your logic is vague and weak. Americans strive to be the Best. Which is why we are the Finest Country on Earth.
If more people shared your view of accepting Mediocraty, we would be...Canada or France.

Nationalism is the gov't taking over of corporations and businesses, kind of like what Hillary is proposing.
