he has, for several years, decided not to participate in the blanket licensing agreements the union uses to negotiate use of player likenesses en masse.

No licensing permission, no Bonds. And that's all of it.

The haters WANT there to be some dark conspiracy, because that's what their sad lives are like. There isn't one.

Barry Bonds is an SOB who doesn't believe that the fans deserve a piece of him. Did you see his interview during the Home Run Derby this year? He droned on and on about himself while his "peers" should have been in the limelight. In case no one has said it yet, I think it was selfish on him not to participate. He was afraid that all of the young guns would show him up.

MLBPA, he is not a part of it. He was a while back but is not currently. So games are not allowed to use his name or likeness in thier products.

Usually the game puts a similar player with close attributes and a different name and allow you to change the name manually.

And yes, Chipmaker is correct, however I don't really call him a member. Technically he is a member but he basically has his cake and eats it too. So I disagree in that respect.

He doesn't give permission to let them use him in the games.

Reggie Stocker is Bonds in most of the new games, but I don't think they have the right career records for him.

cause he's slime, and can't make money (enough) off of it, so they just put some guy in the game name Joe Smith with 100% ability
