You are not reading music as shown on the URL you gave. If you know how the song sounds then you can sing and play it. This method is the most common for guitarists to sing and play songs and the way I began many years ago. Each chord begins where it shows above the word.

The chords shown at the bottom are simply suggestions. You may wish to use six-string chords so you can accompany a singer in muffled terms.

Listen to the Eagles' rendition before you begin. Otherwise, play it as you wish.

The link you gave showed a song with the Chord changes over the appropriate location in the song by the lyrics.

At the bottom each of the chords fingerings are laid out showing which fret to play on each string from E-e.
That type of notation does not give you any of the melody lines just the chords so you can play along.

One of my favorite songs. The chord names above the words show you were in the lyrics the changes are made. Just strum the first chord once and then sing to the next chord and change to that chord, strum it and sing the next part. That will show you how the song goes.
Once you feel comfortable, strum the rhythm like the song and make the changes as you go along.
It's a very simple way to show where the chord changes are.

well the chords are written above the lyrics so when there is a letter above a certain word, that is when you are suppose to change to that chord. so when it says "easy" in the chorus, that is where you change from the G chord to the Em chord. You'll have to just strum the chord pogressions a couple of times to get the exact rythm down until the chords flow and sound just like the song.

yyys is right. Just had a go at it on the guitar and as versions go it's pretty good. It helps to know the song though.
