I know that it's possible to have an ink cartridge refilled, but is it the same for the printheads?

I guess I'm talking about this:

What's the difference between that and and this:

my printer uses both.

NO print heads are an electronic devices that form the print and contain absolutely no ink.

They cannot be refilled as there is nothing to refill, they need to be replaced.

The two products you linked to (the #12 printhead and the #96 cartridge) never go in the same machine. The technology is totally different.

You can refill a cartridge, but you need to replace a printhead. A printhead is the mechanism that puts ink on the paper.

not at all. It is the cartridges that can be refilled.Usually print heads last for the life of printer but in extreme cases in case of damage it can be replaced not refilled.

What is a print head if not an ink cart?

If you mean a set of nozzles fed from a tank, then there is nothing in there that can be filled in the first place...

If you mean a set of nozzles with integral tank (like HP uses...) then that's what a cartridge is.

There is nothing to refill in the print head. It can be repaired or replaced.

You fill the cartridges, clean the printheads. This link will show you how it works.
