Have you ever done one of those paid people search thingys, like putting an internet PI on someone, and if so what was the outcome? Did you find what/who you were looking for?

I never did, but I came close to it once. I wanted to find a friend I haven't seen in 20 years and could only find his name and age - but I'd need to pay to get more info. I almost paid, and even thought of checking out whether he has a criminal record (hey, I last saw him when we were 7 - I wanted to make sure I really want to get back in touch with him).
In the end I didn't pay anything and I haven't gotten in touch with my long lost friend either.
