In short - yes it is but only if you ingest it! not thinking of offing someone are you Goldfish?
The problem is if you put too much into their food they'll be able to see or taste it. So you'll have to be careful and experiment with just a little at a time. Perhaps you should try some yourself and note the effects. A graph would be nice.
Then again, we've completely ignored the cumulative effect of ingesting potassium bromide over time. Definitely fertile ground for more research and graphs here! You've got your work cut out for you, Goldy.
Bon chance! Or should I say RIP...

Potassium bromide is a salt. Mainly potassium bromide is used in the laboratory for reactions and mainly to make translucent wafers to obtain IR spectrums of solid compounds. In very small quantities it is not toxic but dont sprinkle any on your salad.

Hi there... U can seperate the mixture by sublimation. Take the mmixture in a china dish and cover it with a perforated filter paper. Now cover this setting with a funnel. Now place it over a sand bath and carefully heat it. The naphthalene in the mixture sublimes and its vapours pass through the perforations and gets condensed on the walls of the funnel, while the KBr remains in the china dish.

Not all that bad. It's actually used as medicine sometimes. Sodium chloride is toxic too. It really depends how much your taking.

it is pretty toxic.
for rats (meaning for humans pretty close) the LDlo (lowest published lethal concentration) is 250mg/kg. meaning 25g for a full grown 100kg human.

KCl is used in lethal injections in the USA.
As for KBr, it isn't, apparently, so toxic.
