One person asked for slavery reparations...Why didn't they just use all smart questions? I mean, everyone knows that's stupid and immature.

Up to this point in the Democrat debates there has been zero substance or really hard ball questions. I would think if you want to know the candidates capabilities you would want to hear how they respond to hostile questions, from people who disagree with them. After all they are supposed to be trying out for the leader of the free world position, and in that job you are not going to get a script each morning so you can prepare your positions for the day.

We are looking at the future of presidential elections. In 5 to 10 years, this will be commonplace and no big deal. Liberal thinkers realize the advantages this provides and embrace it. This is the beginning of a new era in our society. To not recognize and accept it will cost Republicans millions of votes in the future.

Why not see how they answer questions that are not the norm? I liked to see the candidates in a more relaxed position. Look at Bush. He is always portrayed as very serious and uptight. Maybe if he was in a relaxed environment, people would like him more.

That was a question that a lot of people,be it of a certain group, have on their minds. It is better to get it out and answered up front than stonewalling or ignoring.
By the way, the repubs have their turn in the barrel coming up, think it will be more professional? I was under the impression that conservatives were against professional politicians. Oops, Cheney never held a non-political job till Haliburton knighted him.

Because they had a couple of hours to fill up; and as anyone who has met Americans knows, you could ask all 300 million of them and you will never be able to come up with enough smart questions to fill even one hour. There are simply too many people like Bill O'Reilly and Geraldo Rivera telling people what to think for Americans to be able to think in a clear manner anymore.

Which means you have to take the stupid questions, too. Its the only way something like this works.

I really don't want to have a president that has debated a snowman puppet with a funny voice.

Really.

That goes for either party.
