I was younger and under influence by my family, but now I feel that I help screw over this whole country and regret it. I only hope that we can make it to the day he is out of office.

I just feel horrible voting for the monster.

No point in regretting a decision that you can't undo. The unfortunate thing in this country is that most citizens don't take even the minimal amount of time to actually determine who they think they should vote for. They let family tradition or political religious leaders chose for them.

Want to make amends for what you deem a bad choice? Next time out spend more time looking at their performance records, their resume, and determine if they have been up to the tasks they have been previously elected to. And vote for the candidate you believe can do the best job.

In 2000, I looked at the resumes of both candidates and listened to what each said in the debates and along the campaign trial. Clearly both were riding the fence trying to gain votes. The conclusion I came to was that Gov. Bush lacked the necessary qualifications to head this country.

I regret that I was right.

I won't go so far as to call him a "monster".
But yes, my son, you are absolved from all your sins.

Look - I made the mistake back in 2000.
And in 2004, while I did not vote "for" Kerry, I did vote "against" Bush, if you get my drift.

Anyway, it is in my opinion that Vice-President Dick Cheney is really the person who is calling the shots in the White House...and none of us voted for that "monster"!!!

This would certainly depend on who you are asking for forgiveness from. We have a secret ballot in this country, so in reality, only you know who you voted for unless you told someone.

As for it being a mistake, no, it was not a mistake. You made the choice you did at that time with what limited information you had. It was either Bush or Kerry (2004) or Bush or Gore (2000). I think you made the right choice.

Who you vote for is your business. At the time you thought voting for Bush was the right decision. You shouldn't feel any guilt, come on now.

Don't bother fretting. Since the choice was Bush or Kerry, you chose the lesser of 2 evils. Either one would screw up the country, just in different ways.

For example, Kerry would've increased taxes in the middle class whereas Bush at least had a tax cut.

No ones perfect. Try not to live in the past, just make better decision today and in the future.

Oh come on,

I voted for him as well, makes my stomach turn.

But, really, do you honestly think Gore or Kerry would have been better?

Peace be with you.

You were younger and under the influence of your family when you voted for Bush.

Now you are older and under the influence of drugs, so you're going to vote for a Democrat.
