there was more use of paper thats for sure .. actually i think the pc has mostly just become the new center of entertainment for the home .. life goes on albiet more simplistic to purchase things and pay bills ..

I had my first computer when i was 10 (zx spectrum).. things changed.. I used to go outside and play.. watch the THREE tv channels that there were.
kids now have a lot more distractions. the net / youtube / myspace..blah blah
but i would say the net has had far more impact , in good / bad ways. people have knowledge, but its not learnt just borrowed or plagurised..
the computer was made by babbage 400 years ago, so we've always had computers just they were expensive.
the computer has made people lazy though and improved things.. tricky..
its a double edged sword.. but i'm glad i was born in the 70's

We used to type documents using carbon paper to make copies. When you made an error, you had to go carefully erase the error from each copy and then retype the correction hoping that there was enough carbon left to make the change visible. It took 4 times longer to type a letter and the person typing had to be so careful not to let carbon dust get on the original.

I suppose I'm lucky, I'm 14 and always have had computers :)
Life would be so much harder without all the jobs computers make so much easier, and I would be bored to death without msn.

I only got mine 3 months ago - Luddite! I read books, listened to music, watched TV, went to the pub. It hasn't quite taken over my life but is very addictive and I am having to ration myself.

We wrote letters, watched tv - till eleven, typed stories on a typewriter and printing took a month

we use calculator that need to pull and let go after pressing some figure or functions. It at the same time do the calculation, at the same time excercise your hand.
we use our brains more often for calcuations.
