in a previous guestion i asked what position should she play. she told me that she is scared of the ball. i m working with her by using a tennis ball when throwing and hitting and catching. then gradually we will work our way up to a softball.

will idk my little cuz if like 8 and he is scared too uh yeah what you are doing with her should help she should be working with some thing soft so she knows she will not get hurt but then switch to real softballs....

The softball is scary...it's big and very hard. Does she really want to play? If so, then tell her she HAS to get over it, and just have her lightly throw it back and forth with you at a short distance. If she doesn't really want to play, then just stick with the tennis ball.
I'm afraid of sports where balls are thrown, but I love ultimate frisbee. The disc is big and easy to throw and catch. You can always try that.

when she figures out how to catch or not be afraid of the tennis ball then play her in the outfield especially right field. If this is all girl team then play her in the infield but if this is co-ed put her in right.

Practice with a real baseball. That'll hurt enough to make a softball feel like a Nerf.

I agree with Mel... if she really wants to play, then tell her to "man up"! I have a feeling that your friend really does not want to play and is only playing for you.
Not everyone is cut out to be an athlete. She might be better as an athletic supporter!
