Hakeem is my favorite player of all time but I know he isn't the greatest player of all time. Magic and Jordan are my top two, that I've seen anyway.

As for where he ranks for greatest centers I don't know. At this point Wilt and Russell will always be rated the top two because of their legendary status no matter who comes along. We never saw Hakeem play against those guys and it's completely different eras so it's hard to compare. But I think Dream would have done a lot better against them than most think he would have. Wilt was a great player but his belief that he'd completely dominate and average like 70 points against the likes of Hakeem, Shaq, Ewing, Robinson and so on was ridiculous.

Hakeem was better than Shaq, just ask Shaq, and easily the best of his era. I also think he was as good or better than Kareem. At the end of the day he's probably a top 5 center and a top 10-15 player depending on who does the ratings.

Not even close to being the best center ever, or even a top 3 center... he might be a top 4 center, but Moses Malone was probably better (as well as Wilt, Russell and Jabbar and Shaq). Bill Walton had far superior skills, but Olajuwon has to rate ahead of Walton due to Walton's history of injuries.

Hakeem is a top 5 or top 6 center, and a top 15-20 player. Endless replays of his schooling of David Robinson have added to his legend. But Olajuwon himself was schooled by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar when Jabbar was 39 years old, and made first team all NBA over Olajuwon.

I have to place M.J., Magic, Wilt, and Russell, ahead of him...However, I have never seen a player so physically well equipped to play the game. His combination of speed, strength, jumping ability and pure coordination allowed him to be the only true quadruple double threat in the history of the game.

I would say the four I mentioned had a need to win and/or dominate that the "Dream" lacked.

No, but he's one of the best centers to ever play. I love his footwork, especially when he outplayed Shaq in Orlando during the Finals in the 90s.

Maybe for now, but then someone will be better later...
There is unique characteristics to how each player plays.. such as there is never going to be another Magic Johnston
There is never going to be another Larry Bird, and there is never going to be another Micheal Jordan!
They are all unique in their own styles.. Look up there may be electrical wires up there.. Isaih Thomas
