see after seeing this i am happy to see that no one put Tmac. Now thats a star who can pass the ball. He's a great player cuz he can pass the ball and get his teammates into the game which makes the rockets harder to beat. Who's easier to beat the Lakers or Rockets? If you put lamar odom and everyone else on a team with Tmac you would notice Lamar is good cuz he don't have the biggest ballhogger in the history of ballhogs named Kobe

Dude, I think the most notorious ballhog in NBA history would have to be Charles Barkley. When he posts up and you kick him the ball, good night now!! You will never see the rock again. Even in a double team, he wouldn't pass the ball out. So, say what you want but the fact remains that Sir Charles was a Sir Ballhog. Fo Sheezy my neezy!! Holla ata playa playa!! One!

The answer is Kobe Bryant.
Apparently none of you know what a ballhog is. You're not a ballhog unless you're shooting worse than your own team, turning the ball over, etc. etc. Michael Jordan was never a ballhog in his career. He always shot better than his team, ridiculously well in fact, and rarely turned the ball over. He would add tons of assists to this.

if the offense is centered around you and you take good shots then youre not a ball hog. a good shot isnt a good shot for everyone tho, like a 30 foot jumper for arenas is a good shot as opposed to for someone without that kind of range... so if the offense runs through a player like arenas, mj, or kobe then they are not a ballhog, theyre playing the teams' game... and for gilber haters, the wizards run a princton offense in which in a half court set everyone toaches the ball, gilbert really only jacks up the ball when the caoch wants him isolated or if its a fast break!

Michael Jordan......
Career average 23 shots a game!!...(Kobe only averages 19 shots for his career)
In 15 years he shot the ball..24,567 times.......a record for a 15 year career!..
he shot the ball a record 49 times in ONE GAME!!!
he led the league in shot attempt's a record NINE Times!!!!
His second year he was injured for most of the season...so when he came back what did he do?????...he averaged a whopping! 28 shots a game for the rest of the season!!!!!...he scored 63pts in one game...and LOST!!!
______________________________________________
I know ball's - A Ballhog is someone HOGGING THE BALL!! to make themselves look good!........damn!.....and MJ is a below 50% FG percentage shooter for his career!......what the H*ll are you talking about!.......
Here's proof Mj was a "Ballhog"......
1993 with Jordan.... Scottie Pippen averaged 18ppg on 47% shooting......Horace Grant averaged 13ppg on 50% shooting!
1994 WITHOUT Jordan... Scottie Pippen averaged 22ppg on 49% shooting!...He was Taking MORE SHOT'S and shooting a BETTER percentage!!....Horace Grant averaged
15ppg on 53% shooting!..all there averages went up!..without MJ..................HOW is THAT?..you might ask...after all..
The theory was that Jordan drew so much defensive attention that his teammates got to take wide open shots and benefited from Jordan. It sounds good on paper, but wasn't true in reality. Jordan played in 1993 and retired in 1994. Nine players played on these two teams, and these 9 players, as a whole, shot a Higher!!! percentage without Jordan than they did with Jordan, even though the defenses were focusing on them. This was not a fluke. this occurred over the course of 164 games. That is enough to determine a trend.
The short answer is that players like Jordan (ballhogs) do not make those around them better. Jordan has always been more interested in scoring his points than in helping his team - he practically said so himself.....
2 easy!

Allen Iverson- stint with the 76ers
Michael Jordan- needed to coz of his support with the Bulls. Improved with Pippen on the team.
Kobe Bryant- whined that he wasnt getting good touches with Shaq on the team
Gil Arenas- takes stupid shots from way deep. Good thing Jamison and Butler are efficient scorers and doesn't need him for assists.
Michael Redd- he has to... no one scores consistently for the Bucks.
Vince Carter- takes a lot of 3 pts even when he is struggling
John Starks- remember his playoff performance where he was shooting to find his shot and had the NYK eliminated?

Kobe! I believe it was two years ago when he had the most shots taken in a season in the history of the NBA!
Can't say Michael because as he grew in his career he realized that he had to use the strengths of those around him to be successful...Paxson, Hodges, Grant, Rodman, Longley, and on and on.
Iverson was another player that had limited talent around him for most of his career. He had to take a lot of shots in most situations for his team to compete. You can see that he is not nearly as dominant with the ball in Denver....he has more talent around him, so I would not say that he is not a ball hog.
Kobe on the other hand didn't even worry about winning anymore he just wanted the shots and to be the man thus Shaq leaves.
KOBE hands down!
ETC. This was pulled from the PA basketball Hall of Fame Website......"However, in his first year, he became known as "MR. NO-ASSIST" in the NBA. In the1998 NBA All-Star Game, "he never met a shot he didn't like" shooting 11 of the13 times he touched the ball, and one of those two touches without a shot, he was taking the ball out of bounds!"

That's tough cause most ball hogs do it cause they are the best. Michael Jordon was a notorious ball hog, but he always made something happen with it. Kobe has gotten a LITLLE better at not being a hog. When I was watching the playoffs I noticed that guy Vallejo (something like that) hogging the ball, trying to make something happen. But he couldn't do anything with it.
