I will be taking my Praxis PLT K-6 test for teaching in a month. Have any of you taken it a few times? Say, once not using the study materials...and then once studying? Does the study materials really work. I have taken this test once before and it just seems like it is something you can't study for. I ran out of time. I am in Minnesota so our scoring may differ from yours. Is the study guide worth the money? Thanks!

I'm taking the Praxis on August 4th. Yes, the study guide is definatly worth the money! However there is a way around it. Go to the college libary they always have the older study guides in stock and they're great to use.

Also, go onto the website and use the practice tests that they have online, they're a great way to start before heading to the libary and borrowing their copies.

Hiyas!
I've taken the praxis k-6 a couple of times (took that many for me to finally pass it) and I found the most success when I got the Kaplan study guide for the praxis.
In the beginning I did bad because I tried to answer the questions with how I thought they wanted them answered...after a couple of times and during substituting I finally started looking at it as actual classroom situations...and when I read each question I put myself in that situation and how I would solve it. That really helped me out the most.
