oh my god i got my baby turtles in jan 2 2006 from chinatown! but when i got them when they were a month or two old. the reason because they are now different size is because the 2 that hardly grown are male turtles while the other 2 that are so big are female. usually male grow much slower than female turtles. looks like you have some match there. ( don't worry they won't breed anytimes soon) anyway i would feed alittle bite more for the little ones and also try to separate them when feeding because the bigger ones always get the food.

Unfortunately, many small turtles are bred for consumption (especially those sold in market places and not pet stores), so, it's likely that your turtles were not meant to live long. But, your obvious good care has helped two of them grow and thrive. So, I would suggest finding a local reptile shop and finding out what's going on. They may be able to recommend some vitamins or additional foods that will help your turtles.

hey. i have a turtle too. it sounds like you are doing everything right in taking care of them. you can go to www.wnyherp.org
and type in the kind of turtle it is. there is also www.petco.com and www.amphibiancare.com/frogs/caresheets/juvenileaquaticturtle.html. thats where i wnet to learn about my turtle. and about the growing thing. some turtle probally just grow faster then others. i don't think there is anything wrong with them. the might be a little younger then the other 2 turtles also. i'm sure they will grow soon. good luck!

The small turtles were stressed or bullied by the bigger turtles in the small tank.

The best site I know of is http://www.austinsturtlepage.com with http://www.redearslider.com being a close second for this species.

could be that the two large ones are females, females are sometimes as much as twice as big as the males
