To the S. Orange Blossom Trail, is it a bad area?

I used to live in Kissimmee...off John Young Pkwy (runs parallel to Orange Blossom Trail). South Orange Blossom is not as bad as North Orange Blossom..the area is a bit nicer, especially around Hunter's Creek neighborhoods. Although I would have recommended moving there about 4 years ago, I do not recommend it now. Crime has gone insane recently (there was a double murder in my gated and video surviellenced community last year), traffic sucks anywhere you go, people can't drive (especially tourists) and it looks trashy. Unless you understand Spanish, you won't be able to walk into a store and understand what is being said over the intercoms (especially in Wal-Mart)..I always felt like I was in a totally different country when I lived there.

I would recommend going north of Orlando...Winter Garden, Dr. Phillips, Apopka..those areas aren't too bad. Also Celebration and Champions Gate are nice, they are close to Kissimmee.

Good luck to you!

It really depends on what exact area you are looking at on Orange Blossom Trail. The southernmost stretch of Orange Blossom Trail at the entrance of Hunters Creek is a good area. Once you pass 528 (Beachline Expressway) going north it is not longer a very good area, you will notice a dramatic increase in commerical development and heavy traffic as you enter official Orlando city limits. The worst area on Orange Blossom Trail is north of Sand Lake Road as you approach Downtown Orlando due to crime.

awful place...I was looking at places there before I moved here, and thought it was well priced, well that's becasue it's in a awful part of town. The 1st few weeks I was here I took a acb from Mall of Millenia to a club on OBT, and I was like where the h**l are we going. I don't even like going to the mall down there, you jsut see a totally diffrent type of Orlando compared to the North/East end. I would suggest if you are on a tight budget, to go west of Orlando, like maybe Winter Garden, Clermont (if not too far for you) or maybe around Davenprot which is close to route 192.

I agree stay away from OBT. I have lived North of Orlando for 21 years. Had very few problems

I just decided against a move there, because the murder rate has gone up 188%.
I wouldn't live on S OBT if I were you. I saw a hooker there once. Its very hard to determine where the good spots are.
My advice would be to go to http://www.orlandofloridasucks.com

Yes, that is a bad area. I live in west Orlando on Conroy Rd. which isn't that far from S.O.B.T. but is much nicer. I love it.

I'd live on the out skirts....anywhere in Orlando is bad. The Orlando news is almost just as bad as Miami news...and thats bad! Too much crime...
