A girl at work told me that her boyfriend who is an American Indian told her this. Can anyone tell me if it is true?

Yes, very much true; I'm full blooded Indian and my family believes the same thing also. My aunt is pregnant right now as I speak. I don't know if it was from a gecko tale or not though.

I don't know, but this question made me smile. I've been around a lot of Native Americans, and have never heard that. But there are so many tribes, so many beliefs.

All tribes have different beliefs. there is no "indian way" There are Lakota ways, Miwok ways etc.

So depending on his tribal beliefs it just might be true.
