I really don't think feeding it those goldfish would be a great idea. There's no telling what diseases they may have in those poor water conditions. If that's something you really want to do, I would quarantine them in a separate tank, then raise them to be a little healthier. In the end, it wouldn't be very cost effective. A better live food choice would be ghost shrimp and snails. The shrimp are a lot more cost efficient and you can find them at most fish stores. You'll need snails to help keep their teeth filed down. Most pet stores have a problem with snails in their aquatic plant section, so I just ask for them and they give them to me for free. Seriously, try it! You can breed these too in a small tank so you'll always have a supply. Bloodworms are a good choice. They prefer frozen but will also eat freeze dried. They'll also eat frozen or live brine shrimp.

depends what tank and filter you have ready.
if you have a 10gallon you can get fancies, which are about $4. this would only be enough space for one, they need 10gallons each.
if you have at least a 50gallon, you can get feeder fish whihc would cost you under $1 or other slim bodied goldfish they might sell. this would be an okay tank size for one, you'd need to add about another 20gallons to that tank for each additional one.
