It seems like every small town and suburb has new Wal-Mart Supercenter. I think they are out of control and need to be stopped. They built 14 NEW Wal-Marts within a 50 mile radius of me.

What states are they not in?

Yeah, I agree. I'm glad that there's not a supercenter near me. I like having options as far as shopping for anything is concerned. I really do believe Wal-Mart is a fascist corporation. Their way or the highway. Literally. My mom works there. The only way you can miss work without getting in trouble is to call in dead. She said it wasn't like that when Sam Walton was still alive. So blame his psychotic money grubbing kids.

Then take your business elsewhere. I'm sure it will be even more expensive. And with Obama's and the liberal Democrat's war on Wal-Mart, I expect over time that their prices may go up even more.

McDonald's doesn't overrun locally owned businesses. OMG, I can't believe how ignorant some of your answers are! McDonald's doesn't make people fat. YOU EATING TOO MUCH UNHEALTHY FOOD DOES!!!! To counteract the claims, McDonald's provides healthy alternatives. If you're still getting fat from eating at McDonald's, it's because you lack self-control. Ugh!

I think Wal-Mart is definitely expanding quite a bit, and as much as I loathe the company for different reasons, I have to admit that they've come in incredibly handy in times of emergency. What other store is open 24-7 and has everything you could possibly need? (You could say K-Mart, but Wal-Mart ran them off in my town.) They've also provided jobs for people in my local communities who lost theirs due to downsizing. So yeah, they're excessive, but there is some good that comes out too.

Are the 14 Wal-Marts well anchored to the ground? If not, get out of there fast. They'll start converging on you and you'll be squashed to a toothpaste - and sold on the open marklet as one!

I don't think they are taking over, it's nice to have a Wal-mart convenient.
I also look at it that it opens up alot of job opportunities for some of the smaller areas that otherwise don't have alot to offer causing people to move to bigger cities even when they don't want too.

Now if they would put more Chipotle's around town I would be a happy woman, 14 of those would be about right. Good god that stuff is addictive. I moved recently and WalMart is not convenient for me. I go to the Super Target. It's new and I love how clean it is.

not to worry, people only go to wal-mart for certain things. wal-mart is here to stay, but there's only so much cheap stuff you can pick up at wal-mart, despite their efforts to colonize grocery/sporting goods/apparel/automotive/electronics, etc. we still need grocery stores, sporting goods stores and Best Buys that carry higher quality products.

That's cause Wal-Mart has everything... except for clothes not made by six year olds who get paid nothing.

I hate wal-mart.
Down with Wal-mart.
Do not shop there, if we all did this maybe, just maybe it will go away.
South park episode with Wal-Mart is the best.
