My daughter was very shy in the womb. She would never let us see that she was a girl at any of the ultrasounds. We had to wait until she was born.
With the other two(present one included) it seemed that they were PROUD that they were boys from the start of being able to see the sex(around 18 weeks for this one).
If you have a good tech doing the ultrasound, he/she may be able to get the baby to move enough for you to find out. If not, don't sweat it. It is kind of fun to find out in the delivery room too. Just don't go hog wild buying clothes that specifiy a gender and buy bedding ect that will work for either sex if that happens.
Good luck!

some docs will do a sonogram overdue in being pregnant to 'verify place and weight.' of direction this way of test is incomprehensible. (place may well be desperate with the help of feeling the tummy, and ultrasounds are VERY innaccurate in figuring out fetal weight, and characteristic a tendency to bring about many pointless inductions and c-sections because of fact the scientific expert guesses that infant is 'too massive.') And particular, some docs robotically do a test at each and every visit, and occassionally a woman has a scientific want for a overdue test. yet there is commonly no scientific reason to do ANY ultrasounds in the process being pregnant, and particularly not over the final weeks.

Oh yes, we saw our sons, erm, GENDER in the third trimester! I had a scan at 30 weeks and his penis was VERY visible! So I think the only problem with seeing gender this late would be if baby is in a difficult position again...they don't have as much room to move around now, so it would be even harder to get them to shift position! Good luck!

i've been told..its much easier as u get further along. Depending on the amniotic fluid around ur baby..which can make very blurry so it'll be harder to tell. and most women do confirmed the sex of their baby in the 3rd trimester by a 3d or 4d ultrasound

I've always heard it's earier, because you can get clearer views of the parts the further along you are. The baby is bigger, so the parts are, too. It's very possible to tell the baby's sex that late in pregnancy. I've seen baby's have their sex confirmed at almost full term Good luck at your next scan!

Yes, we can see gender, depending on how the baby is lying, at that stage of pregnancy. Make sure you tell the sonographer to try and take a peek. Here's hoping the legs aren't crossed this time!!!

I've had the same problem I'm 22 weeks along and my baby is always doing something weird. From what my Dr. told me it is actually easier to tell the sex if they are further along. Good Luck..

Actually is usually is much more clear to tell the sex of the baby. I found out in my 8th month that I was having a girl. They guessed it was a girl but couldn't confirm it because like your baby her legs were crossed. It was CLEAR that we were having a girl when they showed us in my 8th month!!

It becomes harder b/c the baby is so big and barely even fits on the songoram picture. If the get just the right angle though they can definitely see what it is...if the baby is cooperating.

My son was actually born at 29 weeks, and when I went into labor they had to do a ultra sound to check to see if he was breech or not (He was, so c-section it was) and they could see everything clearly.
