These are old record terms. Theyw ere for albums. LP is long playing and refers to a 331/3 rpm record. EP is extended play. It is a 45 rpm record album.

LP is long playing and EP is extended playing. LP is the
long playing vinyl records of 33rpm and EP is the vinyl record
playing at 45rpm.

In Video Cassette Recorder (VCR) terms: SP, LP, and EP stand for recording speed. SP mean that you can record up to 2 hours on a T-120 video recording cassette tape; LP can record up to 4 hours; and EP 6 hours. In general, when videos are recorded in SP mode, it produces the best recording quality; 4 hours (LP) are not bad; while 6 hours (EP)of recording time produces the worst video quality.
