You can connect over LAN, or use a crossover cable to connect the two direclty.

Crossover Cable (least effective)
Can be bought at electronics store
Plug into the network connector on each machine.

LAN (most effective)
Buy a hub or router (built in hub) from electronics store.
connect internet to the hub/router
connect both machines to the hub/router
make sure the Workgroup is the same on both computers
---right click My Computer.. choose Properties... Computer Name...
There is a folder called Shared Documents in My Computer. Anything you want to share with the other machine, put here.

u have to be more specific.. u wanna use the same monitor for both?

get a kvm switch

if you wanna control 1 pc from the other, get something like timbuktu and network them. which shows the other pc's desktop on screen

or if you just want to share drives, enable sharing and use a RJ45 cross over cable.

Huh?

You can file share between the two by establishing a local area network between them. For that you can go wired Ethernet or wireless the easiest.

If you want to somehow combine the two into a single computer, you can't do that.
