Also, is it true with tracfone that wherever you call it is just a flat rate of 1 unit per 1 minute? and there are no roaming or other charges? Reason I'm asking is when I registered the phone it said something about roaming charges outside of your calling area/ zip code? Does it cost anything or deduct anything to check voicemail from the phone itself?Thanks! Help is appreciated!

Tracfones work often better than other phones because they use the closest available tower. Roaming charges are added when you are out of your home area, as in traveling out of the area code your number is registered in. You can call anywhere for a flat rate of one unit per minute from your calling area and it is 3 units when you are out of your area.
