Of that group, it has to be Bonds. Even with all the speculation and talk about Bonds and steroids, there's no denying that he was an incredible force even before these issues. I can't imagine him not getting selected. The writers might make some kind of statement by keeping him out initially, but I'm sure he'll be elected.
Outside of Bonds, I'd probably go with Thomas as the closest to being a lock. For one thing, he's never had the taint of steroids associated with his name. He also has 500 homers and was the most dominant player in baseball during the early 1990s. He put up numbers that hadn't been seen for a long time, and was consistently oustanding for about a decade.
Eventually, I'd expect all those guys to get in. Bagwell is a lock to get in quickly, and I think Sosa and McGwire will have their tickets punched if and when the steroid controversy cools down a little.

Frank Thomas' name has never really been mentioned among the steroid users. I think the Big Hurt is sure-fire Hall of Famer. I think Bonds goes in the HOF first ballot, steroids or not. I'm not saying he should, I'm saying what I think. I think Sosa and McGwire will both get in at some point. I'm not really too sure about Bagwell.

I know he is not popular, but you have to assume Bonds gets in even if allegations prove true. The writers for "Game of Shadows" state that Bonds began using steroids in 1998. Prior to that time he still had 500 HRs and 500 stolen bases. He also had 3 or 4 NL MVPs, I believe. That does not take into account his gold gloves, BA, OBP or slugging percentages. So, that being said, doesn't he still qualify pre-steroids, if in fact its even proven that he took them?
Bagwell is a stud--no doubt about it. Probably the most underrated player of our time. Sosa is also a great hitter. Thomas and McGwire don't even belong. McGwire has already been denied, and he will continue that trend most likely.

Sorry but Bonds is a lock. The only thing that would not make him a lock would be a failed test.
Out of the others, I would go with McGwire. I still don't think his numbers a good enough. I mean comparing him to some already in the Hall, yes but I don't think it is right to put people in based on past mistakes on voting.

Bonds - despite obvious evidence of substance abuse- will be 1st ballot
Thomas is a future HOF, maybe not 1st ballot
Bagwell was a career .300 hitter, 450 HR, 1500 RBIs a siiiick .993 FLDG %, AND he played his whole career with the Astros. again, deff HOF but not 1st ballot
Mcgwire - its obvious people dont want him in, so NO
Sosa is an interesting case. 600 career HR, always trailed by the steroid abuse accusations, but never that greatly, since he was i nthe shadow of Mcgwire. he should get in because he really hasnt been proven, and his efforts to help the poor in his homeland, the D.R. have masked asny conspiracies. in my book he's in
so outta that list i have 4 YES and 1 NO
