YES!!!! Sears really really really sucks!!!!!
It all started 8 years ago when we built our house and bought all new appliances from Sears. First, the oven broke right away (within one year) and they came out and fixed it, no big deal. Next, dryer went out, they fixed it (it took like four weeks) and said they were sorry and gave us a $25 dollar gift card, once again not to big of a deal. A few years later the dryer broke again and it was no longer under warranty and would cost over 1,000 dollars to fix so we bought new. Next, the washer broke and it was no longer under warranty either and would cost over 1,000 dollars to fix. (Keep in mind all of these appliances were around 6 years old.)
After this we went back there and the lady selling the appliances told us that they are made to last a few years now!!! (Like that makes it any better).
Also in the mean time we bought a lawn mower from them. (Big mistake) within a few days we called them out because the wheels were not turning and they fixed it for free. The next year we go to use it and it wont mow. We call them they come out and say they need a new belt so we wait and have them replace it for free. They fix it and now it smokes when it mows and pops really bad, they came out said they needed to order some stuff and it would take a few weeks. So we waited (keep in mind we mow around 10 acres so this was all around knee high so we went and bought a used push mower, fun fun)
Next they come out and fix that and it still doesn't work so they say they need to replace the motor in it! So they do that and my mom says to drive it around and make sure it works and he says he did but when we got on it it wouldn't move! So we called them out again (by this time they would yell at us when we call saying its not their fault, we got all the way up to a CEO and he didn't care at all that we were having problems). Finally they fix it and it works okay.
Now this year we go to mow and it wont again! We called and it only had 14 days left of the warranty. They came out twice and fixed it. (My grandpa was looking at it the next day and noticed they didn't put some bolts in so he had to.) Because we had so many problems we kept calling until they gave us more warranty for free. Someone agreed to it but didn't put it in the computer so they kept bugging us saying that it wasn't covered until we just kept calling and calling and annoying them so they extended it. Now they gave us 6 months for free.
In other words, we are never, NEVER shopping at sears again, and we tell everyone we know to not shop there no matter what!
SEARS SUCKS! Don't go there!

Sears has proven to me in the last 24 Hours that they do not have some Technicians that do the job correctly and that the company no longer respects their customers as a whole. What a shame they used to be a good company.
My Story. I purchase a Sears service agreement on Monday the 16th and scheduled a Repair for Thursday the 19th for my washing machine for $232.99, Never was I told that I could have got the Service Protection agreement that would have covered all of my appliances for $550.00. The agreement I bought only covered the washer. the other agreement covers all of my appliances. Then 1 service tech showed up to do the maintenance for the Dryer on time and the Tech for the repair on the Washer never showed up after Sears told me he was in route, he never called to tell me he was not going to be there and when I called at 5:30pm to find out where he was they told me "WE DONT KNOW WHERE HE IS OR WHY HE DID NOT SHOW UP". I called up the next day and over 24 hours talked to 3 representative and 3 Supervisors and all I kept getting is the same response we will schedule you for next week, approximately 5 days after my appointment and that is suppose to make me happy. What a joke they take your money but they don't want to do the work you pay for. The thing that amazed me the most is that if a Tech is unable to be there on a scheduled day common sense and respect would be to schedule you First the next day, NOT SEARS, they put you at the bottom of the list and you get to wait again for the next appointment and hope that they show up or at least call that time.

Last summer I had to jump through hoops to get an outdoor patio set from Sears. I ordered a 4 piece conversation group and 7 piece table and chairs all in the same pattern from their website. I opted to pick the table and chairs up in store and have the conversation set shipped to me because it wasn't at my local store. After I picked up the table set (this is probably 3 days after I placed the order) I get an e-mail from Sears saying they canceled my order for the conversation group because it's no longer available.
I immediately checked their website and found the conversation group was still available to be be ordered. When I called customer service they explained the conversation group was still in some of their stores but not in the warehouse. For some reason they cannot ship it from the store??? After my suggestion and an hour or so on the phone with both the online customer service rep and then someone at the store I arranged to buy it from a store 30 miles from me and have that store deliver it to my house. It was a royal pain in the *** . . .

Bought a Kenmore blender from them years ago. It broke and wouldn't turn the blades, just made grinding noise after only 6 months. It had a year warranty. They would not take it back. They referred me to the manufacturer which is what the brochure said I could do. Salton(the actual manufacturers of the blender laughed in my face and said they couldn't do anything about it because it was a private label item)
Other times I had been in the store they ask every single person in the checkout line if they want to sign up for their ca-ca credit card. Wow that's "efficient"
I had one of these cards and dropped it because they wouldn't extend the membership fee over several months. That was too much to ask, I guess. Their loss. I have a much better card now with a lower APR, and no annual fee
Another time I called a Sears store and no one would answer the ☎ ever....ridiculous . Eddie Lambert and his thugs are proud of fleecing the Corp to his benefit while it spirals into defunct status

Sears sucks! My washer was leaking oil I assumed from the transmission. I called Sears and told them the situation. I asked if the transmission is bad? I knew that a transmission is expensive and since it was an old washer it wouldn't have been worth repairing. I didn't want a service call if I was just going to throw it out and buy a new one. Sears said the only way they could tell what was wrong was to come out and check it out. The repairman came out, charged me $65.00 for a service call and said, "you have oil leaking, that means the transmission is bad."
Exactly what I told them on the phone when they said they couldn't tell without seeing it. I was royally ripped off and haven't been to Sears since nor will I ever set foot in that store again. I went to one of their competitors and bought a new washer.

We bought some Expensive front loader washer and dryers just last month. The sales person talked up into the stands b/c we are tall so we went all out. First the people delivering the product scrapped up the walls. Then they didn't install the stands. They told us they'd come back and redo the walls and put the washer and dryer on the stands. The dryer wasn't levelled. It was awful. Needless to say 3 of the same applainces later...we are satified with the product but not with the store. We will not be buying from them again. What's your story?

I hate Sears,,,mostly because they are owned by Kmart. Kmart managed to declare bankruptcy and eliminate all the common stock we common people own. The preferred stock owned by the Board was reinstated.
Also Sears is famous for putting out a flyer with great prices on items. This is good until you go to the store and find out that the sale item isn't on hand. You can order it, and wait a month, but for just a little more money you can buy the more expensive item they have on hand. Can you spell illegal "bait and switch"?

Sears is HORRIBLE!!! Their customer service dept will make you want to bang your head against the wall! Purchased a wash machine, which was to be delivered in a week. Manufacturer delay, upped to an additional month for delivery day before original delivery date. I could not get back my money from them in form of payment I have. Customer service was actually laughing at me, and talking back to me. Disguesting!!! Dont waste your time ever, wish I read all these reviews first. Believe me, Sears is not the company it used to be!!

With a little patience, you can have a lot of fun with Sears. I took a Craftsman ratchet in for replacement. The salesman hands me a repair kit. I made him show me the Craftsman warranty and try to show me where it says I have to do the repairs. He tells me, "Thats the way it is". I made him call the manager and told him that my labor rate is $20 minimum and I wanted payment in advance. He handed me a new ratchet. Got a lawn tractor and extended warranty. Had so many repairs in 10 months that I told the store I wanted to return it. The manager said it would cost me 20% to return it. I told him my attorney would be in contact with them. Ended up paying them 10% for the time I used it (no attorney involved) , got all my warranty money back and sold all the belts, blades and other equipment they used to leave when they did repairs at my house. I had gotten a new set of blades each time they repaired the mower and that was a lot of blades.
