this happens everytime...no matter the size of the file. on nero, it wants to use all of the dvd space, so if i want to burn more movies on one dvd i can't. any help? thanks.

MPEG files are larger than AVI, so when you transcode it into DVD format, it might take up the whole thing. Use a 3rd-party avi to mpeg converter to see the difference. Have you tried a small .avi like like 100mb or so? You should be able to burn several of those on a single DVD. Of course you'll have to burn them all at one time. When authoring DVDs to play in DVD players you can't add more stuff later.

Here's a link to an AVI-MPEG converter that has a free 20-day trial... It's not great but can give you an idea of how much space the different formats take up.

Sounds like you're trying to burn using a video project instead of a data project.
