I'm in Cheltenham. I was pretty lucky, but currently I am without running water for 2 weeks. The local water company have set up 900 bowsers across the area and residents are queueing up to get water. Its not so much not having nothing to drink, my fridge has wine, beer and juice. We have a few bottles of water, its flushing the toilet or washing your plates up that becomes difficult.

In a few days all the businesses will have to close if they can't flush their toilets. Bars and restaurants have closed already. i'm sure the high street will be a ghost town. To take 2 weeks of business away from EVERY business will be devistating to the local economy.

As I say, I was lucky, my housemate was stuck unable to move on the motorway from 7pm to midnight because of the floods. Others were there until 7am.

Nothing though, compared to the people of Gloucester and Tewkesbury.

Luckily i'm on holiday tomorrow, off to cyprus where i'm told, there is a heat wave.

It's been terrible, i think Noah had the right idea. People have lost their lives homes etc and what do they do send Gordon Brown out to meet them. Am sure they would appreciate drinking water and food more! They make you laugh it's all about politics. My friend had her work flooded and they had to send out the rescue team when she got stranded there. the car engine was flooded and there was no phone lines. I understand alot of insurance policies are not paying out. But you watch we will have 3 weeks of hot weather and there will be the usual hosepipe ban, unfortunately we dont act and conserve until it's too late. It's lovely that the U S are showing concern though, i'm hopeful that the situation will soon resolve itself although i am grateful that my family and i live on higher ground. Good luck and best wishes to anyone out there that's had problems.x

Although we live in Worcestershire, one of the Counties which has been hit by flooding, we live in almost the highest part of our Town. If we get flooded, there will be no Town left.
I do wonder how some people are going to manage without domestic water for a whole month.

What, did you miss all the flooding here in your own country? Take a look at Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, not to mention almost the entire East Coast. My heart goes out to all the victims in every country.

No thankfully, thank you for asking. The main problem seems to be in the southwest about 150 miles from here

how nice to know our friends across the pond care about us, I spent 7 hours on a train, should have been a 2 hour journey but the station we were headed for was under water. But thats just more of a nuisance than anything else, fortunately my town had a lot of rain but missed all the flooding.

Thanks for asking. It's nice here today in Cheshire - it must be our first day without rain in weeks. We're not flooded thankfully and although our river is close to bursting, it would have to come a mile uphill to reach us.
