Al Gore’s Other Green

It turns out that, when it comes to his speeches on global warming, Al Gore is interested in another kind of green.

The environmental seer reportedly raked in around $100,000 for a 75-minute-long University of California, San Diego enviro-sermon, according to thesmokinggun.com.

Taking a cue from Angelina Jolie, Gore insisted that he be able to pre-approve any banners, logos, and communications materials for the event and that there would be no reporters, video, or audio taping of his hot-air lecture.

Gore’s other demands included first-class air travel for two, a $1,000 per day expense account, his own security guards and, of course, a hybrid car.

I have known that it was a scam from the beginning but no one would listen. I googled carbon offsets. I was amazed at the number of websites wantin donations. They can't forcast what the weather will tomorrow and people trust people to predict what will happen 50 years from now.

Attacking the messenger doesn't diminsh the message. The fact is, if it wasn't for people like Al Gore the 'message' probably would never get out. Also, a lot of this negative stuff about Gore comes from certain right wing think tanks that still haven't emerged into the 21st century. If you check, even some of the most reactionary trans-national corporations are beginning to see the 'green' in going green. Global climate change is real, it will effect everyone on this planet and it will have to be addressed realistically sooner rather than later. Dumping on Al isn't going to do it...dealing with the message might!

I'd demand all those things too while speaking bout the need to be better stewards of the earth if I could. But, I am not famous like Al. I did not invent the internet or anything.

So, what you are saying is that someone is supposed to speak for nothing. Would you?

Because he is a former Senator and Vice President he is worth thousands for speeches.

You might want to check and see what others, including GOP members get for similar speeches before you launch some silly diatribe about Al Gore.

Amazing how there are REALLY important issues to discuss, yet people insist on obcessing over Al Gore. Are they afraid they will lose if they talk real issues? It sure seems so.

All Gore should put all the hot air he blows to a better use.He could even produce electricity should he direct all his hot air towards a wind propelled generator.
we could also find the same use for Michael More.

It's totally in character - I am not surprised at all.

But in a reply above there is a mention of Al Bore inventing the internet - nothing could be further from the truth - how can people be so easily misled?

So what!

Why can't Democrats make money? Do you think only Republicans should be allowed to? Go look at what some of you Republicans make at speech's! I don't get you people! There is YOUR America and then we are suppose to be lap dogs shut out of making money!

Supply and Demand ! Ever heard of it?

And so what. Wonder what the Rolling Stones demand when they are in the US? Or any rock group, or Nascar driver, or personality? Omar is being paid millions to autograph some damn baseballs and make a few appearances, Since he is being sued, I guess he has as much trouble showing up for them as he does showing up for games!

What nit pickers who only see one side!

His son's legal cost's are adding up, he needs to earn some money to pay for them and of course he has an extremely high light bill, not to mention his gas bill. So I believe you.
