theres a group here that just goes around reporting questions and answers to get them violated.....for no reason...or they simply dont like their opinion and Yahoo lets them get away with it

That happened to me once when I first got on Answers.

I kept asking them why and they sent back answers that didn't answer (ironically).

I can only assume that they do no investigation whatsoever. They simply take an abuse report and administer punishment. I'm sure they don't have the resources to investigate.

The answer I provided in no way could have been construed as a violation of community guideliness. Merely because I disagreed with a premise of a question was I issued a violation.

Had this continued, I'd have gone elsewhere.

But Yahoo! eventually will have to do more than blindly issue a violation merely because someone complained. It would create a death spiral, with people being issued a violation blindly striking out at others. That would ensure an eventual mass exodus.

The keys to all such forums are tolerating others and scrolling past what you don't like. The forums that survive will be doing that in the future maybe with a warning that things can get rough. So, beware.

YES, I agree. I once put a joke about marketing shares in the Marketing section, and the people loved it! But about after the 7th answer I got, they took it off. There was no foul language or anything that could be a violation to the comunity. They never anwered me back when I asked what the reason was. They are spoil sports sometimes! And those people doing it just because they disagree or think your question is stupid should go and get in pain in their @rse! What happened to SENSE OF HUMOUR poeple?!!!

You are right, adults having fun with children around is and can be quite challenging. You do lose the points you spend on posting the question and you do not have the opportunity to regain some of them by picking a BA.

Fun on here is always tough but seems to be harder when school is out. Young minds have difficulty wrapping themselve around adult questions at times. And I hope I am censored for this answer, because some snot nosed kid gets bent out ouf shape because it does not fit their perfect but limited world.

I got violated for gently taking issue with someone for posting a Harry Potter spoiler in their question. I didn't even have to go into the question to read the spoiler... that's just wrong. First time I ever got violated. It was probably some kid.

I've gotten to where I don't come here as much as I once did because of that. You have to watch everything you write and what fun is that? If they don't like a joke, they pull it....if it's too much like a "chat" they pull it. Sucks!

Yes they do. It's weird because I'll give a totally non-insulting answer and they'll take it off!!
