I'd like to read a book closely related to rock or similar genre music. It could be about a rocker (or punk rocker, for example) and his life, gigs, etc. Something like that and something interesting.

Thanks!

The Sound of One Hand Clapping, by Fay Doxford.

It's one of the very best books I have ever read. I can't recomend this highly enough! Good luck!

The Armageddon Rag by George R.R. Martin. It's about a writer who becomes involved with a 60s rock supergroup, and involved again when the group re-forms in the 80s.

The story takes place in the 1980s, but with plenty of dreams, flashbacks, and references to the 60s. And rock music is referred to throughout the book, of course.

Because they're mentally unstable and think everything they see on TV or in movies is 100% real. When I was very little, I was obsessed with The Little Mermaid and wanted to be one. But I still always knew they weren't real, and I outgrew it when I was about 4 or 5 years old. If these girls were in that age range, I wouldn't think anything of it, but we're talking about 12-14 year-olds here! I agree, it is ridiculous. I'm not such a fan of preteen girls as it is, and they're making it worse...

A great book that fits you description to a tee is "Shakey: Neil Young's Biography" by Jimmy McDonough.

It starts out in Rock's infancy giving tons of interesting detail about the early years and early contributors to rocks beginning.

And young himself is such an interesting, pervasive, and ever-changing character. You will be amazed by his story.

i dont know if you are interested in non-fiction but if you are The Dirt is a wonderful book by the band members of Motley Crue. And coming out soon is The Herion Diaries by Nikki Sixx. That looks to be like another good one.

Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill
Its a fictional book about an 80's metal rock musician who collects macabre items. He buys a suit thats supposed to be haunted by its previous owner. VERY SCARY! I liked it. A couple of twists you don't see coming.
