Hi,
What is the highest temerature achieveable by an electric heater? I think I read something about it being a few thousand degrees celssius.

By far the highest temperature is by using an electric arc. The arcs are normally sustained with carbon electrodes because of the very high sublimation temperature of carbon. Arc temperatures are estimated to range from 10,000 - 30,000 C (20,000 - 50,000 F). A few thousand degrees C is easy. Light bulb filaments do that every day.

Well it will require a new technique but I think it is achievable. The highest electrical heat is obtained from lightning. They say it approaches the temp of the sun.
