I'm not a Sox fan either, but I believe that every baseball fan should be happy that he was back on the mound and pitching well last night.

While we sometimes forget it as fans, there are far more important issues out there than sports - health, friends, and family to name just a few. To see Lester back doing what he loves is just a great story, and a good reminder that sports should always be viewed in context.

Well, I am a Red Sox fan, but even if I wasn't I would have felt good to see him get the win, and pitch well. Boston has now had a few medical success stories... Jon Lester is the most recent, but also Phil Kessel of the Boston Bruins hockey team, and Tedy Bruschi of the New England Patriots football team. It is really unbelievable how these athletes can go through all of the rehabilitation, and still go back to their sport and be productive.

unlike you, i am a red sox fan and i had the greatest joy watching such a young and great pitcher return from one of the most terrifying medical illnesses and person so young could have. TO have him return and only give up 2 ER and have 6 k's against a great offensive indians, is quite an incredible feat.I can say with much confidence he will give all the yankee pitchers a run for their money, because as everyone knows, they struggle.

I'm a Yankee fan and am very happy for Jon Lester, he has overcome something that not even a rivalry should get in the way of getting respect. I hope all goes well for him and he stays recovered and that it's not in any type of remission.
