If you have a warranty then you may be able to get one at little to no cost. If not then you may have to call up an Apple store near you.

I know you may not want to hear this bad news but Apple only replace hardware problems that was created by them. If you accidently put your iPod in the washing machine, they won't replace it and how would they know? They'll know because they have a water active sticker that's in the iPod and it automatically knows if water ever entered the iPod so they'll know it's not their fault. You can try to call Apple. I truly hope they'll give you a new one.

First of,when did you get the I-pod?I think that Apple has a warranty for I-pods if you just bought them. But i'd call the Apple Customer Service.

Apple WILL NOT replace your ipod due to any physical damage. If you don't mind bending the truth a little (don't tell them u washed it) maybe they might help you out in another way. good luck!

Not sure if this is true, but I once read somewhere that it is not the water that damages the ipod, but the impurities in it, so if you wash it with distilled water, and then let it dry, it might work again

comiserations! if you have a techy friend you could ask them to take it apart, once you've dried it out, and carefully remove all the signs of corrosion that WILL be there! then take it back to the shop and act innocent....but i think you'll have to bury your lil white friend in the backyard and move on through the grieving process. =(

ouch. as it is completely unusable, if your warranty hasn't expired, you can send it in. if that doesnt work, several companies buy broken iPods to referbish them, but i wouldnt buy one from there.

IT DID? If you got it at Costco, they'll replace it and I think they might even reimburse part of it.

I doubt it. It's not meant to go through the washer.
