Put the equation into slope-intercept form:
y = mx + c.

-x + 2y = 4
Add x to each side:
2y = x + 4
Divide by 2:
y = x/2 + 2.

The slope is m, which is 1/2, and the y-intercept is c, which is 2.

as mentioned before, the common equation of a line is in the form: y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-int.

in your case, solve for y:

add x to both sides:
2y = 4 + x

divide by 2:
y = (4/2) + (x/2)

which can be written:

y = 2 + (1/2)*x

therefore your slope = 1/2 and y-int = 2

Re arrange into the form y=mx+c then m is the slope and c is the intersect.

So:
-x + 2y = 4
2y = x + 4
y = (1/2) x + 2

so slope is 1/2 and intersect is 2

-x + 2y = 4
2y = 4 + x
y = 4/2 + x/2
y = mx + b when m=the slope and b= y-intercept
also known as slope intercept form
m = 1/2
b = 2

Put it in standard form: y = mx + b

2y = x + 4
==> y = (1/2)x + 2

Slope (m) = 1/2
y-intercept (b) is 2

(done)

-x+2y=4

add x to the other side. remember y=mx+b

2y=x+4

divide both sides by 2, in order to get y by itself

y=1/2x+2

remember - m is the slope, and b is the y-intercept

so your slope is 1/2

y = mx + b.

If you put the equation in this form, m will equal the slope. So, solve the equation for y.

b will then equal the y intercept.
