Whenever experts, commentators discuss the indian batting lineup, usual comment is we have strong indian batting line up with the likes of Rahul dravid, Sachin, Sourabh Ganguly and Laxman,But the strength lies only on papers and not when they are batting .We were facing 3 understudy, new and inexperiencec english fast bowlers in Lords test and the famed batting line up flopped miserably.

I strongly recokn that words " strong indian batting line up" should be ceased from using. How many times this batting lineup has won matches battign in 2nd innings of a test match?

'Strong Indian batting line up ' phrase is used because all of them have scored many runs individually. Indian batting line up is not performing according to their standards. They have failed many times. Indian batting line up is not reliable. I believe India would have won the match if the batsman would have performed well.

I 110% agree with you. This is a hype and marketing ideas
for fans to get addicted. Just because they have scored runs
does not assume them to use these words.
Why don't they use the Strong bowling lineup or like best
fielding line up....
All are relative and the famed batting( only by pundits who
can hardly play)...

Gee...give me a break....Sidebottom, Tremllet, Panesar
are 3 very new bowlers (2-3 years of international experience)...When the ball is swinging, even a kid bowler
can tame our so called Strong Batting line up.

Indian batting line up was really very good in 2004.
The time India went to Australia and won the Adelaide test
The concept 'strong batting line up' originated about that time
Standard has definitely gone down now.

india had once a very strong n a cooperative batting line up. but it is fading away due 2 lack of concentration and cooperation. the game is becoming more individual in india. players r playing 4 themselves instead of the country, this is my observation

Agreed... Though i think englands batting line up is similarly overrated. lots of talent, too much inconsistancy.

It's all relative! athe line-up is perhaps the best as far as India is concerned, in recent times: they don't produce runs, though!
