My dishwasher needs cleaned and not sure what to use. I have tried some bleach but still needs cleaned. By the way I was using generic dishwasher detergent. Any ideas?

I do this once a month... If you have any Kool-aid sweetened or unsweetened drink mix generic as well... Fill the dishwasher cup with that.. The citric acid in the drink mix will take away any mineral deposits/gunk as well as freshen the dishwasher... It works and it's cheaper than using JET-DRY.. It really works it seems silly I swear, but it really works !!! Good luck

Call Tim Allen? (just kidding)...some run a cycle with baking soda to remove mineral deposits...if it's an odor problem use juice of lemons...or cut one in half, knot it into some old pantyhose that are no good and secure it in a place where it won't interfere with the mechanism. It's also helpful for mineral deposits too. And there's also vinegar. I guess with that one you just have to pour it in.

I wipe mine down with Clorox spray but occasionally run a dishwasher cleaner through it. They are available at your supermarket.
