I thought they said "Go to the light", not "don't go to the light".

I actually say don't go toward the light. Going toward the light doesn't actually cross over to eternal peace. When you go toward the light your then coming out starting again.

Going toward the light signifies that they cross over to the afterlife.

If you are prepared for the afterlife in your heart, then this is a great thing to do, at some point!

However, the person saying DON'T is trying to get you to stay here and live.

I have always said "go towards the light" I used to be a Nurse and saw many and attended many as they died. I would never want someone to hang around here after they passed. And if someone actually did say that to someone crossing that would be awful.

"The Light" is synonymous with full understanding. Those people who ask "What is the meaning of life?" will know the answer when they die - or "go into the light".

i understand what you're saying-- When someone is watching someone die they say don't go twards the light because the person saying it to the other doesn't want them to die. the light represents heaven.

its because the light presents heaven and if you are in heaven well, your dead.. so not going towards the light means to try and stay conscious and not die.

it depends on the choice of lights, if I had a red light or a white light then I think I would head for the red light, I have been to Amsterdam and the red light is much more fun.
