If many, it's quite ironic that he would lead other people's children to their death in a war of choice--Iraq. Ironic, no?

5. John Kerry got 4 before he ran out of options. Bill Clinton just chose to dodge rather than defer. John Edwards even got one. Bet you didn't know that.

You complain about Bush's National Guard activities. You complain about Cheney's deferments. But when we had a President that was called up to sever he ran. Deferments weren't illegal nor were they difficult to get. You just had to state the reason why you wanted the deferments. He didn't dodge the draft he had every intentions of going. Bill Clinton on the other hand ran to overseas to dodge the draft instead of applying for a deferment. Yet you are willing to rub the deferments of Cheney's in his face. At least Bush and Cheney went after the terrorist. Unlike Clinton running away from all difficult decisions. Including going after the terrorist after the first Trade Center bombing.

At least he got those deferments. How many did Clinton get? Oh wait, that's right he didn't get a single one. He signed up for the Army and then ran to another country to keep from having to serve but yet he still made it to president (at the cost of many lives during his climb to the Oval Office). So Clinton had no experience with the military what so ever and was quoted saying he loathed the military.

Hum, fancy that.

It was 5, quite a high number. Yes, it is ironic that now he is part of the administration that is sending soldiers to war. Bush too, did not serve in Vietnam.

Why are you wasting your energy on this? We must look forward. We must learn from our errors/mistakes. Your question is meaningless.

Most politicians and connected people skate from military and other social obligations. I'm not saying that I'm OK with it. I'm saying that this is reality.

You might have asked "What can we do to prevent the wealthy from avoiding military service during a draft?"

Anyone can point a finger. Solutions are the future, not accusations.

It's too late to worry about "Vietnam" now - I wonder how many times he has committed treasonous acts in the past 6.5 years and if he will ever be put on trial for them.

As far as Edwards goes, there were no draft call ups the year he became eligible.
Once again, NEOCONS check your facts before you shoot your mouths off.
