I actually felt pretty excited and positive when I was reading it. Obvioulsy it was awful when people died but I was overjoyed to be able to read the last book and it was a good interesting read too.
It's unavoidable that people die in wars and we have to accept their loss and remember them for their bravery and sacrifice. Yes, there is a reason to be sad, but there is also a reason to be happy, they succeeded in the end! Anyway, as Dumbledore says - 'There are worse things than death'.

It was depressing while you're reading it. Depressing points - when Hedwig died, when Ron left, when Dobby died, when Remus & Tonks died and even when Snape died especially when his last dying words to Harry were "Look...at...me..." He wanted to look at Lily's eyes through Harry's before he died. So touching!
I didn't get depressed when Fred died. I WAS UPSET!!! Whhhhyyyyy? If JKR thought that it was imperative to kill a Weasley, why not Percy the prat instead or Charlie for that matter since he's the least talked about among the Weasleys. But Fred? Come on! It was utterly useless and pointless unless she just really wanted to depress the readers.
But there were the upsides, too. Even when George lost an ear, I laughed at his and Fred's banter. And Kreacher requesting Harry for one last go at Mundungus Fletcher. And the whole chapter on The Prince's Tale.
My all time favorite chapter is The Flaw in the Plan. I could have jumped up and down reading Molly Weasley battling Bellatrix Lestrange! It was the first time we see Mrs. Weasley exhibiting her duelling prowess!
The fact that we feel these things give credence on how great a writer JK Rowling really is!!!

I was sad while reading characters I love being killed off. Especially Fred and Dobby. I was also kind of angry about Lupin and Tonk's, especially Tonks, being a new mother an leaving him an orphan. I cried when Harry buried Dobby, it really struck me that this character which started as a little boy had matured to be a man. It was poignant. A great read though!

I think everyone is going to be upset because its the last book and the characters who died did make it sad and I was upset as well, but I also think that it will pass and that the people who do feel sad, me included, only feel that way because it is the last book and all that.

I'm just glad Harry, Ron, and Hermione didn't die. And I'm glad Harry got to talk to Dumbledore again. I am only depressed that there are no more stories to read and the whole thing is over.

Yes, but there had been so many rumors about Harry, Ron or Hermione dying, that I think I was relieved and happy that they were OK, so I was more prepared for the death of the others. I was very sad with the death of Sirius and Dumbledore though, when it had happened.
