I totally agree with you, if a guy like Jeter, Posada, Rivera left it would be horrible, they are what make the yankees the yankes. i think jeter was born to be a yankee and jorge and rivera deserve to end their career here. i dont he will leave, because hes gonna stay in AL so he can DH and also not many people can afford him. hope he stays, i love him! he just figured out how to handle the media. GO AROD!! :) GO YANKS!!!

Angels are most likely the front runners IF he leaves the Yankees. Vlad's getting older and they could really use another big bat like A-Rod in the line-up. If anything Vlad will benefit from it.
The Red Sox Organization will make a bid for him, but nothing more than a bid. He is a great ball player I'll admit that, but us Sox fans don't want him here. He will be under a microscope even more in Boston. We already don't like him; if you think Lugo and Drew bashers are bad, just think about if it was A-Rod. The point is that he is a great player and the Red Sox will go for anyone great if they're available. We have the money, that's not a question, but I personally (along with a lot of other Sox fans) don't want him here in Boston.
The Giants will not get him. "AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE" - Stephen A
Cubs could make a legit bid for this guy if Cuban buys the team. Who better to build a franchise around than the best hitter in baseball right now. He is in the prime of his career. The Cubbies are a great organization to play for and Wrigley Field would love to see A-Rod there.
When it all comes down to it, I think he will play for (in this order):
1. LA Angels of Anaheim
2. Chicago Cubs
3. NY Yankees
4. Boston Red Sox
5. SF Giants

No one, even the Yankees, is going to pay A-Rod $40mil a year. The Angels would not have to rework Vlad's contract to get him, just like the Yanks didn't rework Giambis, and Jeter's, and Damon's contracts when they got him. San Fran, I don't think he would go there because they wouldn't win. not because it would be hard to hit HRs.
That leaves us with Boston and Chicago. Boston already tried to get him once. It got nixed because people were willing to rework their contracts to make room for him and the league and players union didn't like that. Can't have team players or anything. He would have the short fence in left, so he would keep his HR production, and would have a chance to win yeain and year out.
You kill your own argument for the Cubs. Look where it got them (before they started winning again) and it now looks like they are in good shape to take over that division by the end of the year and go to the playoffs. Yeah, what a bad move on their part. So they will have a playoff team, and in addition to that they would be adding the greatest player in the game. Sounds like a good thing for me. His stats would be huge in a hitter friendly park, and he would be on a playoff team that he instantly turns in to a perennial contender.
As for staying with the Yanks. They hated him until this year. If they get to the playoofs again and he doesn't produce they will hate him again. He is not playing his natural position (he's a better SS than Jeter is). And if they don't make the playoffs, he's playing for the highest paid team in bball that also has the most problems/questions/concerns. Injured pitching staf, aging team with very little young talent. Only going to get worse unless they can unload some heavy contracts.

Many teams would be willing to pay him $35-$40 million. LAA would sign him. Also, San Francisco would look to sign him considering they need to fill their star player role to put fans in the seats, since they will not resign Bonds after this season. The Red Sox would sign him because they have the money too, and remember before he came to the Yankees he was willing to take less money to be traded to the Red Sox instead of the Yankees from Texas. The Sox were going to trade Manny for him, but the MLB players association nixed the deal because they would not allow Arod to take less money. However, I think the most likely situations are in this order...
1.Angels- a contender looking for the last piece to put them over the edge to start a dynasty. Worth the extra money because he will put extra fans in the seats to cover the expenses
2. San Fran- will have no fan base once Bonds breaks the record and will have the money after being freed up of Bonds' contract. Their attendance NEEDS him
3. Yankees- they are going to make a strong push for him, it just depends on whether or not AROD wants to be a Yankee and that is very questionable
4. Red Sox- talked about above
5 Seattle- Where he started. Just signed Ichiro and showed they were serious about being a contender. May not have the money though

Nobody in there right mind.... When I heard the Sox were kinda interested and in the Running, I was kinda happy at first, cause he is a good player, but then I remembered that he I a completely worthless person, Like that play when he called the third baseman off while running by, You can clearly tell when you watch the replay that he said "Mine!" . Or when he slapped the ball out of Arroyo's hand, or when he got facewashed by Tek. I hope that he stays in NY where he belongs, His real home is there, not in Boston or first place!

I don't think anyone will pay him that, I hope owners are smarter than that, including Steinbrenner.
30 Mil could get you a top tier batter and pitcher and Arod is not worth more than those two.
Unless you can constantly outperform EVERYONE by a large margin, you aren't worth two people.
Who would you rather have, Arod or Torii Hunter and Santana
Arod or Wells and Halladay
Arod or the entire Tampa Bay offence
Arod or Pujols and Carpenter
There aren't many situations where you would choose Arod where you could have two top tier players.
Plus, if Arod opts out, that should stop Texas's committment in the salary and I think that would be the breaking point for the Yankees.

nicely, while you're actually not keen on the Yankees, why could you hardship to observe them anyhow? And in case you have been a fan, why could you not watch them? A-Rod earns that 27 million in the process the regular season, have you ever seen his information? he's effective to any crew, in basic terms not for the playoffs.

There would be considerable interest in A-Rod at any price because he is one of the best players in the game. A-Rod can opt out of his contract after this year if he elects to do so. However, I really believe he would like to negotiate a new ten year contract with the Yankees that will take him to the end of his career. He is having a great year and has a lot of bargaining power at this time. He knows the New York fans will embrace him as he tries to catch Aaron and Bonds and bring the homerun king honors back to New York where the fans there believe it belongs.

The Cubs might spend the cash. Besides everyone knows that Arod adores Pinella, and would love to play for him again

He should stop being such a money grubber and do whats best for his team. I think the Yanks will come up with his salary but at what cost? It would be a shame to loss any of there stars because of one mans greed. If I was A-Rod I'd play for free to help my team be the best it can be. Unfortunately A-Rod is not a true Yankee so he will do what best for himself regardless of where that takes him.
