I agree with everyone else about the possibility of dust, but I've never experienced a smoke detector actually going off because of it - that would concern me. Might be a good idea to mention it to your landlord.

it has not been used in a while! I lived in apartmest most of my life so lets just say 25 years! and EVERY year we got that same burnt smell!
When the fumes that light the furnace haven't been used in over a month they have to burn off all that dust and other particals that are on the furnace the smell should go away after 3 days!
we got in the habit of turning our heat on in fall with the windows open just so we wouldn't have to smell that and freak out!
so don't feel bad even after knowing this happends we still check EVERYTHING lost my home in a fire i would reather be safe then sorry!

It is probably nothing to worry about. You haven't had the heat on for several months. So when the heater kicked on all, the dust in it burned. Change your air filter. The same thing happens with my bathroom heater fan every fall when I use it for the first time.

The smell is from dust and dirt that has collected on the heater surfaces. This is typical and is not usually a problem.

properly it is general to get advance in volumne of discharge (leukorrhea) and that's alot and if in lots of cases gentle or candy smelling. it is all the way down to the greater secretions of mucus from the cervix and hormonal differences. of course advance discharge could be with the aid of yeast infections whether it won't burn like that after your putting the cream on. The swelling of the vagina is probable all the way down to greater blood circulate to the area and this might reason in advance in discharge in addition. i might the two see yet another wellbeing care provider or wait till finally your subsequent appointment. positioned on pantyliners to seize the release and at evening positioned on easy or cotton undies and do no longer positioned on something tight as decreased air on your bits might reason reason inflammation. in case your in alot of soreness and you haven't any longer felt this including your different infections then possibly you prefer a distinctive medicine to sort the kind the situation. in case your water leaks it is candy smelling, in case you think of your water is leaking inspite of the release then you definately could circulate to hopsital or the docs. they are able to swab and verify whether it is your waters or no longer.

It's probably just the dust, hair, etc that settled on the heater while it hasn't been used for a while.

it may have been a mouse that was stuck or died in the heater and when you turned it on, it started to cook...or possibly, a lost alien landed in the thing and couldnt get out
