You may have sulfer in the water. You may need to add a filter that will remove the odor.

You have sulfur in the water. You need to have your water tested and see if there is any way to be able to have the sulfur removed. If not, you may need to have that area of your well sealed off and have the well drilled deeper to get to some good water.

If the well is drilled into the wrong area, you can get sulfur water instead of good water. Our neighbors had their well drilled 8 feet too deep below the same coal vein ours was in. Theirs tasted bad and smelled like rotten eggs and our tasted like really good bottled water and didn't have a bad smell to it at all.

There also could be the possibility that someone around you has done something to that vein of water, such as a coal mine or dump or gravel pit or someone else drilling a well into it that messed up the taste of the water.

There is also a possibility that you could have bacteria in the water. The bacteria light should help take care of that. For the change to happen that quick either it has to be bacteria from not using the water for a while or something has happened to the vein of water allowing sulfur to get in it. If it is bacteria, it'd be a good idea to turn the faucets on and just let the water run for a good while and kind of purge the old water out of the system.

I wouldn't recommend drinking the water for a while, especially if the smell is due to bacteria. If you do, want to drink it, at least boil it for several minutes first. It won't hurt you if the smell is due to sulfur to drink it. It just won't taste that good at all.
