Offensive statements - swearing and slander in a word - depend on the moral code. The stricter the code, the more offensive it's possible to be.
In a country like Spain (until recently almost 100% religious, virginity until marriage a theoretical norm, an agricultural country where toilet facilities were primitive) sexual insults, blasphemy and lavatorial comments were very powerful indeed. Your mother and her chastity were sacred.
In this country "Son of a *****" can be offensive but might be a joke. Not in Spain. They swear with imagination and complexity: I once heard a Spaniard, annoyed with his car breaking down, say "I sh*t in the milk of its whore of a mother." When it turned out that the train he now needed was cancelled, he went further: "I sh*t in the milk of the virgin mother of God." This combined religion, sex, motherhood and sh*t - a very offensive and powerful oath indeed.
Is this offensive enough for you?

The most offensive sentence I can think of is this: "You should have been an abortion". I think of Osama Bin Laden everytime I think of this sentence if my mind happens to visit the dark side for a bit.

"Me and the girls have been talking, and..... we have all voted you the ugliest boy in the entire school"
(This was actually said to me when I was 11!!! I am over it now, and I hope I have improved somewhat since!)
