She was arrested this morning for DUI and possession of cocaine. It's her third DUI arrest.
What is the punishment that should fit this crime?

I would say, no. She needs to be heavily fined, and put on serious probation with a suspended sentence. Any probation violation, and she goes to the pokey. In the meantime, she does rehab and is prohibited from drinking or doing any drugs. She has to submit to weekly testing, and is prohibited from going to bars and clubs of any kind. She should also be given community service, and made to do public service announcements against drugs and alchohol which include publicly admitting her mistakes.

If she is convicted of three DUIs, then California law has mandatory 120 days jail time. She shouldn't get any special treatment. And considering that she is also charged with a hit and run from Memorial Day and cocaine possession this time, the judge will also take those issues into account.
How very sad that she just can't seem to get it together.

She is just like the rest of us, she should do at least 90 days in jail and be fined out the a@@. These girls like her and Paris should be treated no different than anyone else. Things like this are an outrage, we get no special treatment when we are thrown in the slammer. The three strikes your out law in California should apply to everyone not just the general public.

She should go to jail and be treated like anyone else would be. Maybe that is the only way she can be prevented from doing this again.
Nobody should be out on the streets driving around drunk and coked up knowing that there are other people on the roads they could injure or kill.
It makes me sick that she probably does it over and over again because she thinks she can get away with it.

She's pathetic, and apparently totally out of control. Someone needs to get her straightened out. She just came out of something like 45 days in a rehab place at Malibu. (I sure hope she didn't pay much...considering that she's back at it after about a week of getting out.) I doubt that even doing time in jail or prison will help her. But, let's hope it will, and let's hope they put her there before she kills herself...and some innocent people who happen to get in her way.

She should be given the sentence under (I'm assuming she was in California) state law, just like anyone else.
Just for kicks, the judge should pretend she's a young African-American or Hispanic man, who has also had 2 previous DUIs, and then sentence her.
The judicial system is a disgrace. :(

I bet you she will get a tougher punishment for her offense than Mick Vick for his dogfighting and dog torture offenses. But then again he's a big football player and the Falcons have invested a lot of time and money into this idiot.
The magnitude of her offenses and his don't compare.

She should be treated like everyone else (ie not famous and rich). Which means she should spend time in jail.
