I promised a buddy I'd help him get a decent drum throne. I'm looking for something that more than one person can use easily (easy to change height adjustments - maybe) and a serious "bang for the buck" factor. There is a weird limiting factor though - he wants a FOUR-legged throne. I don't care if it has 3, 4, or 5 legs - I just need a recommendation on what I should steer towards, so 3-legged models would also be considered. Another weird thing is that I'd like to see one with one articulating leg - the place where the drum throne goes is NOT level, so it will need to be "compensated" somewhat to fix that. So... what do you guys (and gals!) recommend that I tell him to get? My friend is about five feet ten and weighs about 180 pounds, guessing. Thanks!

btw: I'm a blues-rock guitarist, but I know I need some help here.

First of all, wanting a four-legged drum throne is the craziest thing I have ever heard. If the ground is uneven, the throne will rock back and forth as he plays. Three legged thrones don't have this problem which is why most drum thrones have three legs. I would guess that 99% of pro drummers use thrones with three legs.

The throne that I would recommend is the Roc-N-Soc Nitro Throne. It is the one that I use. It has a nice wide stable base and an extremely comfortable seat. The height can be changed instantly with the lever located right under the seat.

Here is a link to the throne:

If that one is too expensive, this one is $25 cheaper, and pretty close in quality.
The Gibraltar Hydraulic Moto Throne:

As for an articulating leg, I have never heard of a throne that had one. I don't know what the throne is sitting on and how slanted it is, so I'm not sure what advice to give you on how to fix that problem.
