Honestly, I don't think so. I know I am ready, I have been ready since I was able to vote. There is still a lot of deep rooted racism in America. Race and sex are very powerful and influential factors, if many people can't get hired because of sex or race then why would they elect a President that is a women or a black person. Its 2007, you would think not, but many people would say they would but when it comes down to it and they are in their voting booth alone they wouldn't do it. Between Hillary and Obama. America is more likely to choose Hillary. Because she is a white woman and she has history with the country.

Anyway, the electoral college has the final say. I don't see many of them voting for either.

Per the law, an "African - American" is not eligable. Teddy Roosevelt once said "It's the hypenation that is dividing us." Now, if you're talking about a Black American,if he/she is qualified, sure! For the record, there are very few true "African - Americans" in this country. Why do so many people who are Black whose lineage has been tied to this country for at least 1 1/2 centuries refuse to accept this as their home country? You don't hear of Haitians or any of the other Carribean Island nations claiming their African herritage. And, the likelihood is great that their ancestors were on the same ships from the same regions (usually Senegal). Those ships usually stopped there before coming here. Just curious. I'd vote for Condi any day!

Heck yea... The only reason this should be a big deal is b/c it will be the first time that this has ever happened; other than that, just b/c we have only ever had white male presidents, it does not mean that neither women or black ppl are stupid or incapable of running a country at all. Obama and Hilary are politicians just like everyone else. They have good views and bad views; some people like em, and some don't. Why should it matter that he is black and she is a woman? We need to worry about the ISSUES people!

I would have no problem with either of those. Except in this case, I would rather it not be Hillary Clinton (too much baggage), but instead I would like to see Condalisa Rice make a run for it.
I haven't paid enough attention to Obama to make any kind of descision on him. Other than the fact that we were both in private schools on the island of Oahu at the same time. Different schools though, and he was a few grades ahead of me. But hey, us Hawaiian educated kids gotta stick together.
But I'm leaning more towards Fred Thompson right now.

I'm ready, and I don't expect much to change if and when a woman or African-American is elected. I just wish there were a viable candidate of any race, gender, sexual preference, etc. who agrees that we need to be developing nonlethal weapons and nonlethal methods of terminating unwanted pregnancies.

Neither of the candidates I am considering at this point (Joe Schriner or Ron Paul) is a woman or of African decent, and neither has much chance of winning. So I am still looking for someone I can support more enthusiastically.

i'm sorry, why ought to a rustic could desire to be 'waiting' for a pacesetter who isn't a white male? not even counting the undeniable fact that a white male hasn't precisely carried out them plenty stable in the previous, why ought to it is approximately being waiting? Who desperate that that distinctive crew of of folk are the only ones who could be suitible as president? What precisely constitutes as 'waiting'? the only way that query ought to be asked could be say, if there have been no women or african-people in united states of america of america, wherein case, no it does not be waiting. inspite of the undeniable fact that it has lots of the two, so it may well be 'waiting', particular. of direction the reality this question is asked in any respect, i assume exhibits that united states of america of america probable won't get the two, for sure because of very close-mindedness, sexism and racism that's recent, which i certainly wasn't as attentive to as a I ought to be. i comprehend that applicants in any election are not continually voted on with the help of what they have self belief in and notwithstanding if or not they make a stable chief, properly. here in the united kingdom, the countless events are divided and voted on alot with the help of money/classification. in the U. S. i had believed it became into moslty faith that led peoples evaluations. yet i assume i'm harmless adequate to have self belief that their ideals and their management ought to additionally be secure in that decision. Race or intercourse should not count number in the slightest in my recommendations. How people can say 'Is united states of america of america waiting/not waiting' or perhaps voice an opinion one way or yet another, are relatively putting some 'blame' on the rustic, while it is their own slender-mindedness that leads the question. it is not approximately notwithstanding if united states of america of america is waiting, it is approximately how the people in united states of america of america vote. If people won't vote for a women or an african-american, that their own predujices, saying 'united states of america of america isn't waiting' is people in basic terms attempting to displace their own predujices and adjusting the blame so they could delude themselves into questioning they are actually not racist/sexist. And now i've got rambled on in an answer which will on no account get appropriate answer and particular is definitely not examine plenty because of fact people do in comparison to people arguing, so i'll resign and according to probability not come into the politics section returned! continually gets my returned up.

I am ready for a President who knows how to run the country with strength, honor and intelligence. I am trying very hard to find that candidate and it doesn't matter to me what color their skin is or what gender they are.

After speaking with my parents, B.O. doesn't stand a chance. However, they are both ready to vote for Hillary. My parents are 65 and 72. Both hold advanced degrees and by most standards are upper middle class. B.O. just isn't carrying this demographic.
