Is it because our teams has been the best in the History of baseball? Is it because when have the best player in the game and the all time post season hit leader who will eventually become the all time hit king (Check the stats Derek Jeter haters). Or is it because you want to be like everyone else so you just hate on the Yankees for no reason?

Another question: Why are some of you people so freakin' immature?

So dude with the weird user name, do you hate the Cardinals, because Tony La Russa got a DUI. Do you hate the fans who hate Barry Bonds, because they throw all kinds of things at him. Do you hate the Marlins, because Scott Olsen got arrested a couple of days ago.

Well.. people are jealous of the best and most powerful. Thats true in all aspects of life. Its the same reason why employees often hate their bosses for no reason. Its the same reason so many people hate America. Its the same reason why the most popular girl in school is often hated.

Sometimes there are valid reasons for why people dislike the yankees, but more often then not they just hate them based of their fame.

Oh.. one more thing.. When people attack spelling mistakes, its because they have no logical answer your question and know you are right.

It's people like you that make people hate the Yankees and the Yankee fans. You always attempt to put yourself on a pedestal and look down your nose at non-Yankee fans. Year after year, the Yankees have paid to have the best team in baseball. How have the past 5 years been? Arrogance and ********* only get you so far when you can't back it up. Yet, fans like you think the Yankees are far above the rest. I'll give you the history factor, but that is history. That's like saying the Boston Celtics are still awesome. And yes, they Yankees have a few of the best players in baseball and will be hall of famers, but that does not mean you have a good team. A-rod was on the Rangers for 3 years and put up the best numbers of his career. A group of high priced individuals does not make a team. A great set of teammates make a team. You probably have already realized this, people don't hate the Yankees, they hate Yankee fans. The sad part is, Yankee fans are so arrogant, they don't realize the world of baseball has passed them by, and they probably won't have a great TEAM for many years to come. Hope you're satisfied with the best history in baseball.....

On the whole, I don't believe that Yankee fans are classless. Sure, they do have their share of classless "fans" (more on that later), but most of them are ok. The problem is that the ones who are jerks go out of their way to be obnoxious and in your face. So even though they make a small percentage of fans, they make more noise and are more noticed, so people think all fans are like that. It's the same with fans of other teams too. When that thing happened with Gary Sheffield and those two idiots at Fenway, the national consensus seemed to be that all Sox fans were drunken fools, even though balls go into that corner all the time without incident. A big part of it was that ESPN showed that footage every 15 minutes for about 6-8 months, so it was constantly being hammered into people, and nobody noticed all the times something like that didn't happen.

The Yankee "fans" who are jerks are the ones who constantly try to put others down because their team has been the most successful over the years. They seem to think that since the Yankees have been better than most teams, they are better than the people who are fans of those teams. They think that the fans of the other teams are losers, when in reality they are the losers because they take their own self worth from the accomplishments that somebody else (the Yankees) have done.

You may have noticed that I put fans in quotes a couple of times. That's because, and this is another reason why I think as a whole Yankee fans are ok, is that I believe the majority of these people are not real Yankee fans. I think that the jerks can be categorzied one of 3 ways.

1. They pretend to be Yankee fans on the internet because they like to stir up trouble. Some people like to go on message boards and such and antagonize others. I guess it makes them feel good, or tough, or something. I have no doubt that there are many people who log on to a Red Sox message board pretending to be a Yankee fan and stir up trouble. Then later they log on to a Yankee board under a different name pretending to be a Red Sox fan, and stir up trouble there.

2. There are some who say they're Yankee fans, but they're just bandwagoners. Some of them became a Yankee fan in 1996. Coincidentally they also like the Spurs, Colts, and Ducks. Some of them like the Yankees because they have 26 championships. It's like one day they looked up who had the most and decided to be a Yankee fan. If the Indians, Tigers, or Pirates had the most championships they'd be a fan of that team.

3. The last group would be the people who are true Yankee fans, and are classless jerks. This group does exist, but it exists for every team. I don't care if you're talking about fans of the Red Sox, Royals, or the Nippon Ham Fighters.

In conclusion, while there are some classless Yankee fans, they only make up a small percentage of the entire Yankee fanbase.

Jeffrey Mayer or however you spell that kid's last name. Cheated by reaching over the wall to help the Yankees beat the Orioles. Then the Yankees treated this kid like royalty. Should have been escorted fromt the game and the ball taken from him. I believe they are stories of them bleacher fans throwing items at opposing outfielders.
I don't like the Yankees because they ruin the game of baseball for the small market teams. The small markets can compete with playing each one of their players $40 million dollars a year. Some of the small market's entire payroll is less than A-rod's. It will be a matter of time before some of them will have to close down because they'll keep losing money. Yes you are a Yankee fan and your team will be there for a while. But think about the Royals, Devil Rays and Marlins fans(and yes they do have fans) if their home town team had to move or just fold. How do you think the Montreal fans felt when the Expos left?

Classiest? Let me think..... Could it be the respectful way they treat other teams fan's, particularly Red Sox fans, when they go to a game at Yankee Stadium? No, that's not it. Could it be the convicted felon that owns the team that gives the sense of class? No, probably not. Could it be the incredible form Yankees fans use when showering players with foreign objects, most notably batteries? Doubt it. Could it be the way Yankees fans clutter up message boards with their talk about their team, all the while thumping their chests as if they actually have anything to do with the success of the Yankees? No way.

Sorry - I tried.

In response to the comments above from the asker, I would like to say I do not hate the Yankees or any of the other teams mentioned. As a matter of fact, I respect fans who support their team regardless of their position in the standings. But, I have noticed that the response most Yankee fans have to anyone that does not think that the Yankees are God's gift to the world is that they must be incredibly stupid. You might be suprised to know that there actually are knowledgable fans out there who are not fans of the Yankees. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the history of the team, and, although I think he's a jerk, I will give Steinbrenner credit for bringing the Yankees back to prominence in the 70's and again in the 90's. Don't look at everything like it's black and white - just because I am not a Yankee fan, that does not mean I hate them. I like to reserve my hate for things that really matter, and as much as I do love the game, there are certainly much more important things to be angry about or hateful towards then a baseball team. Here are a couple reasons. You have the best player in the game, and are only now appreciating him becuase he is having a great year. His last couple years were better than 98% of the league and that wasn't good enough for you. He is a better defensive shortstop than Jeter, yet he was the one willing to move, not Jeter, the supposed "ultimate team player."

You have Jeter, again the supposed "ultimate team player," who wouldn't move to second to make room for A-Rod (this was before Cano was called up). When A-Rod struggled, Jeter wouldn't support him. Why? Because A-Rod said some stupid comment in some stupid magazine, and he was going to hold a grudge about it. Plus, what A-Rod said in the magazine was true, I think that's why Yankee-dom took it so hard, because they are so afraid to face reality.

ESPN is like a second Yes Network. They show EVERY Yankees vs. Red Sox game because that's what America wants to see supposedly. No, that's why we call it an East Coast Bias. ESPN is near NYC, and so they place a greater emphasis on what happens there. Yanks are 10+ games out in June with 8 teams ahead of them, and all they are talking about on ESPN is what can the Yanks do to turn it around? Is it just a matter of time before they turn it on? When do you think they are going to overcome Boston? WE DON'T CARE!!!!!! Tell us about the teams that ARE playing good baseball, instead of trying to figure out why the Yankees aren't.

I don't mind that Steinbrenner pays out of his *ss for his team. More power to him, I wish my team would do that a little bit more. They just need to know it's not about signing all the best players, it's about developing a TEAM. Over the hill pitchers coming off of major surgeries won't get it done, even though your team is averaging 36 runs a game.

Congrats on being the best team over the course of history, but you aren't the best team now, not even close. Stop expecting everyone to treat you like you are. Realize that there IS baseball outside of New York, and maybe, I said maybe, people will stop classifying you as classlests. (I mean classless)

I would never consider Yankee fans as classless but you are sorely mistaken if you think Jeter will break the all-time hit record. Jeter is currently averaging 1.28 hits per games. He still has 1,973 hit to go before tying Rose's record. At his current pace, that's 1,541 more games, almost 10 FULL SEASONS. He's 33 now, the odds of him maintaining his current production without injury until he is 43 are slim to none.

Sure. Just tell me what a classlest is.

Thanks for clarifying. I go to Wildwood, New Jersey every summer and get to encounter MANY fans of all the New York sports teams. When it is cold enough, I'll wear my Flyers-Eagles-Athletics-Spurs-United colors and not once in 47 years have I encountered any fan that I thought was classless.

Every team has it's poorest example of what fans SHOULD NOT be like. I try to represent my teams with class and leave the classlessness to those who carry it so arrogantly.

The most classless fans? From I've seen yep, that's pretty accurate. If you meant classiest, apparently your fingers had a mind of their own and attempted to type a more accurate description of Yankee fans.

And why do people insist on living in the past and the future instead of the here and now?

Of course you meant classless...that's what I said!

Maybe because (I said because) you can't spell?

Sorry you felt my answer was immature. My reaction was my response to your arrogant question. This is why we do not care for Yankee fans. They are arrogant. They think they revolve around all the worlds of baseball fans. You don't. Yes, you won many championships in the PAST. Keyword PAST. So have the Celtics, the 49'ers, Bulls...etc....but you don't hear those fans holding onto the past too often. You need to live for today...Between this question and your counterparts question of HEY CLONES OF YANKEE HATERS...we are all sick of you. Ya, you love A-Rod now, but oh boy, if he chokes in the playoffs again, you will be back on the I hate A-Rod bandwagon again!! Get over yourselves and maybe, just maybe, you will earn our respect.
