I mean what do these things represent from the real world , I always have a problem understanding these concepts?

matrices can be used system equations easily.
vectors can be used to find the place of things(such as plane, ship, ...) according to a known place.

All the subjects are too useful for programmers and engineers.

Algebra, vectors and matrices are widely used in:-
Physics
Electrical Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Electronics
Aeronautics
Space Travel
to name but a few.

Take a look at your mobile phone and think of the electronic theory and mathematics that lie behind its discovery.
Come to think of it , scanners in hospital, in being invented, were heavily dependent upon Electromagnetic Theory and the associated Mathematics.

So keep plugging away at your Mathematics and don`t look for excuses!
